Welcome! I am an experienced Psychologist providing individual psychotherapy for adults in a comfortable private setting in Sacramento. As a psychotherapist for many years, I have helped many clients make tangible and lasting changes in their lives. I would be happy to talk with you about beginning therapy to help you feel better, find more peace and comfort, and to grow in ways that will allow you to live more fully.
People tell me that I have a warm, comfortable style and a compassionate nature. I truly enjoy the work I do and have strong technical skills and knowledge to effectively address a wide range of concerns. I am glad to help individuals who have experienced abuse and trauma, as well as those with specific current struggles in their lives.
Generally, I work with clients to:
- calm troubling anxiety
- enhance personal strengths and wellness
- ease life transitions
- soften grief and loss, including pet loss
- transcend wounds of the past
- restore emotional health and balance
- develop more satisfying relationships
My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical and looks beyond the surface of issues, drawing upon the most current psychological approaches. For example, I am skilled in EMDR (a well-researched treatment technique for trauma/anxiety), psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based therapy. I often integrate elements of somatic therapy, expressive art, and other modern treatment approaches in my work. I especially enjoy helping clients to identify and build upon their own strengths to make way for growth. With broad experience to draw upon, I can be attuned to the preferences, learning style, and needs of each individual client. I welcome all backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, genders, and physical abilities.
My office is conveniently located, comfortable and welcoming. I serve the greater Sacramento area, including Carmichael, Folsom, Gold River, El Dorado Hills, Elk Grove, West Sacramento, and Roseville.
Help yourself start feeling better by contacting me today. If you feel hesitant about taking the next step, perhaps it will be comforting to keep in mind that starting therapy is often a lot easier and more comfortable than the anticipation of starting therapy. I encourage you to call or send me an email to get started now. We can discuss your reasons for seeking counseling and I will answer any questions you might have. Or if you prefer, we can just set up an appointment to meet.
I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you personally.
